Spring Holder - Horse Float Tail Gate

The spring holder connects the horse float tailgate to the loader spring when lowering the tailgate.

Rust in the hollow spring holder is the biggest cause of tailgate spring failure.

The solid bar between holder plates is manufactured from a medium-high tensile steel bar.

As a result, the installers' preference now is to fit these custom holders.

The holders themselves are 10mm plate steel. The bar across the holders is K1045 medium tensile axle steel.

Note: Fits all Couplemate tailgate springs up to 19mm in diameter.

Install holders on either side of the tailgate when necessary. We recommend using 2 springs for heavier tailgates.

It is important to weigh tailgates before purchasing springs. An old set of bathroom scales do a fine job.
