Replacement Caravan and Camper Trailer Shock Absorbers
Replacement caravan shock absorber kits are a favourite used on Jayco, Coromal and all modern caravans in Australia.
Shockies dampen the energy from rough roads that would otherwise travel through your caravan.
A helpful tip for caravanners is to line cupboards and cutlery trays with neoprene rubber. This rubber provides extra shock absorption to prolong the life of electrical and other expensive equipment in the caravan.
Further, shockies do not carry any leaf spring load or share spring suspension weight.
The popular myth shock kits carry trailer weight is false.
Our best guess is the life of a dampener absorber expires within five years of purchase.

- Shock absorbers are oil-filled.
- 1600kg per pair
- Brackets are not included.
Shock Absorber Installation
Install your shock at 90 degrees to the spring travel. In most, this is 15 degrees to vertical.
Install on an axle of 15 degrees to the vertical and about 300mm length or 1/2 open.
Worn parts, parts rubbing together, loose nuts, worn utensils, etc., are all signs of a trailer without a caravan shock absorber.
Why are shock absorbers important for your trailer or independent coil spring suspension?
Do you remember Henry Ford? Ah, yes, I thought that name would ring a bell.
Ole Henry never put shock absorbers on his cars until he got sick of the rough ride.
A funny thing happened when Henry put shock absorbers on his cars; as a result, Henry sold more cars.
Henry sold so many cars all over the world car, and other manufacturers eventually installed shock absorbers on their vehicles.
We reckon your caravan needs them too.
