56mm Square Galvanised Chassis U-Bolt incl Nylocks and Washers

56mm square galvanised u-bolt includes nylocks and washers. The 56mm u-bolt is designed to secure mudguard and spring brackets on galvanised boat trailers.

U-bolts have rolled 1/2 inch threads and include galvanised flat washer and galvanised nylock. The thread length is 60mm.

56mm square u-bolts are available in a variety of lengths to suit various chassis rail thicknesses.

It is important that u-bolts are re-tighten approx 300 km after installation due to steel's ability to stretch a little under load.

Once you have re-tightened your u-bolts the final time, you should never have to recheck them again. Once the mild steel stretches the first time, you should expect the final tighten to be in the order of 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Stress Tests

U-bolts are stress-tested during manufacture and then batch tested until destruction.

Break loads exceed 17t for 1/2 inch galvanised u bolts.

Our u-bolts are de-rated to 375kg each or 1.5t per set of 4 or enough u-bolts to suit a single axle.

The max rating of 60mm Round axles is 3t with a u-bolt rating @ 1.5t.

Furthermore, we stress-tested these u bolts during manufacture and batch test until destruction.

As a result of overloading or shock loading, destruction loads exceed 17,000kg for 1/2 inch galvanised u bolts.

The max rating of 750kg axles is 750kg with ubolt rating @ 1500kg.

Further, vibration fatigue can loosen u-bolts if not re-tightened after 300 km.
