45mm slipper springs are available in two lengths, 710mm and 765mm and are suitable for metropolitan travel or highway travel with light loads.

Slipper Spring Derating

Slipper springs are rated at 120% of full load for all single, tandem and tri-axle sets.

For example, a tandem trailer weighing 2,000kg x 120@ = 2,400kg

Axles, springs and associated equipment must rate a total of 2,400kg

Why derate trailer slipper springs?

• Usually, it is common practice to use 2 x 40mm Square axles on a 2000kg trailer. Wrong.
• 6mm slipper springs do not load share or transfer load across both axles.
• For example, each wheel in the above example has a loading of 2,000kg / four wheels or 500kg per wheel.
• Mount a gutter using only one wheel, and the wheel on the same side is lifted off the ground.
