DIY Jockey Wheel Selection

We only stock quality jockey wheels found in popular Caravan, Camper and most trailer parts outlets.

Quality wise, not all jockey wheels are the same. Beware of what we call disposable trailer equipment.

NOTE: When moving your trailer using your jockey wheel, wind it down for best results. Moving trailers with jockey wheels in the high position is not advised.

6" JOCKEY WHEELS - LIGHT DUTY - 350KG

• 350kg - 6 inch Solid Wheel Jockey designed for very light boats and box trailers. Eg Jet Ski's, tinnies, box trailers. Variations are clamp on, weld on Swivel and U-bolt Swivel if you do not want to weld.

• 350kg - 10" Pneumatic Jockey Wheels are designed for grassy areas and rougher terrain than the standard Jockey Wheels. Often go flat due to excess weight or lack of maintenance. Folks upgrading from a 6 inch to 10 inch think they will solve any over loading problems they may have had with the 6-inch. Do not fall for this one.

6" STANDARD JOCKEY WHEELS - 500KG

• 500kg - 6 inch Solid Rubber Jockey designed for medium range boats and box trailers. Same variations as above. For these types of Jockey Wheels you are most likely to find them in caravan and camper outlets.

8" ZINC CENTRE JOCKEY WHEELS - 750KG

• 750k - 8-inch Zinc Inner with solid rubber outer. Great for caravaners and boaters with medium to heavy beasts. Not suited to undulating grassy areas but will get by when moving with the jockey wheel in the low position.

• 1000kg - 10-inch solid rubber with pneumatic profile. Now we are getting into the big girls. I have yet to see a one of these broken. Suitable for moving almost everything. Commonly used on Off-Road Campers and tandem trailers.

• Power Movers - 350kg Pneumatic tyre used by caravaners who want to turn their vans 180 degrees when parking in a garage. Not recommended for anything other than a caravan or boat that you wish to move on flat ground. Available in Pneumatic and Solid Rubber wheel profiles. Not suitable for tandem trailers.

• Twin Pneumatic or Solid Wheel units are commonly used to turn caravans or campers 180 degrees in your garage. Big heavy duty units. Clamp can be changed to a heavy duty double clamp if you are finding the jockey wheel leaning to one side and not performing properly.
