AL-KO recommends the following tightening torques for its own range of steel wheel studs
- 7/16" UNF - 110Nm or 80FtLbs
- 1/2" UNF - 125Nm or 90FtLbs
- 9/16" UNF - 140Nm or 100FtLbs
Wheel nut torques should be set using a calibrated torque wrench and checked, as is normal automotive practice, after the first 50km following removal and refitting.
It is AL-KO's recommendation that no lubricant be used on threads of either stud or nut, but these should be clean and free from rust or corrosion. AL-KO recommends tightening wheel nuts in a diagonal sequence.
