AL-KO has produced the first hydraulic disc brake calipers with a true performance rating. AL-KO Hydraulic Disc Brake Calipers have a stopping capacity of 1600kg on 14" wheels. They are tested to 200,000 cycles under AL-KO’s strict quality control procedures. This superior, proven performance ensures maximum braking effectiveness, safety and peace of mind.
Tough, hard wearing AL-KO Hydraulic Disc Brake Calipers deliver the very best in trailer braking technology. Designed and built specifically for trailers, they perform reliably in the harshest of conditions and need little maintenance.
The AL-KO caliper is cleverly designed so that it is interchangeable with equivalent products on the market ensuring a hassle free changeover. The calipers are supplied in Dacromet® coating or Marine Grade Stainless Steel for the ultimate in corrosion resistance.
Dacromet® outperformed its zinc-plated equivalent in more than 720 hours of salt spray tests. It is widely used in the automotive, construction, military and trucking industries. The unique low profile design ensures that the caliper fitment will give you flexibility in wheel choice. From 13" rims, which allow boat trailers to have a lower profile, up to 16" Landcruiser wheels. When it comes down to it, your life could depend on you making the right selection on a trailer braking system. T
he AL-KO Hydraulic Disc Brake Calipers are your number one choice as it offers you the peace of mind of a trailer brake that is easily installed, maintained and will perform in the harshest of conditions.
The simplicity of hydraulic lines connecting multiple calipers makes this style of caliper suitable for
installations where more than one axle is used. Trailers with loaded weights exceeding 2000 kg require independent control and breakaway facility, causing the brakes to automatically activate should the towing vehicle and the trailer become accidentally disconnected. Hydraulic disc brakes used with a simple system such as the Sens-a-Brake fulfil this legal requirement. Hydraulic calipers can also be operated using hydraulic over ride couplings.
